Technical IT Consultant (New York City)

Whiting Consulting is searching for a Technical Consultant for our client, an IT management software company. They are seeking a highly-motivated, technical, results-oriented individual to join their Solution Delivery team. This individual will provide technical solution expertise to successfully implement the Company’s solution and deliver to referenceable customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer engagements consisting of planning, implementing, analysis, training (knowledge transfer), and mentoring of the Company’s product to drive product adoption and meet project objectives.
  • The Consultant will manage customer expectations to be in-line with agreed-upon business and technical requirements allowing the delivery of high quality implementations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • The Consultant will provide strong leadership and communication within the Company and as part of the customers’ project team.
  • The Consultant will become a subject matter expert on the Company’s software suite and Business Transaction Management best practices, providing knowledge transfer and promoting the Company’s solutions (both internally and to external customer) making recommendations for product enhancements.
  • Travel < 75%.

    • Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Technical BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience delivering solutions in an enterprise software environment or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience managing issues, projects, deadlines, and documentations in client-facing environments.
  • Client-facing experience in big heterogeneous complex application environments, such as in fortune 500 companies.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, along with a high-level of professionalism.
  • Creativity finding solutions to problems and ability to multi-task during complex projects.

    • Specialized Knowledge: Solution Delivery Experience

  • Knowledge of complex heterogeneous multi-tier web applications, and experience in several of the following technologies:
  • Proven hands-on experience installing and configuring complex software products in Unix, Linux, and Windows server environments.
  • Experience with application or systems performance and monitoring products is an advantage..
  • Object-oriented programming technical skills in Java, C++, or C# is an advantage.
