JQuery & Javascript Lead Engineer / Client Side Architect (New York, New York)

Our client’s Innovation and Technology Group is looking for a highly-motivated and talented JQuery and Javascript Lead Engineer / Client Side Architect to join their growing team in downtown Manhattan. They are leveraging the latest and most exciting technologies, and they need the best and brightest people to help them create the most advanced financial systems in the world. In this position, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, scalable client architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of an advanced JavaScript/JQuery application.
  • Collaborate with product manager, interaction designer and development team to produce a world-class product.
  • Initiate client architectural direction, utilizing best of industry patterns, including but not limited to: MVP/MVC pattern, http event bus, client caching, request batching, etc.
  • Lead a small team in the development of an advanced JavaScript/JQuery system.
  • Define interface contracts for JSON services team.
  • Use modern Web techniques to implement complex data-centric transaction system.
  • Develop Web front-end for high-volume and time-sensitive financial transactions within multiple auction frameworks.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers.

  • Requirements .

  • Experience in sophisticated front-end application development (not just brochure sites).
  • Expert in advanced JQuery, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and XML.
  • Experience integrating with back-end service oriented architecture, preferably using Rest/JSON.
  • A deep passion for resolving browser performance and compatibility issues.
  • Expert in page rendering optimization.
  • Ability to create, evaluate, and select technologies for our architecture and implementation..
  • Experience creating and monitoring client side engineering standards..
  • Experience working in a software product organization or Internet start-up.
  • Ability to work in small, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • Interest or experience with CSS3, HTML5, Comet, and Web Sockets.
