USER RESEARCHER (New York, New York)
Whiting Consulting is looking for a User Researcher NINJA for our client in the NYC area. This individual must have proven success with shipped consumer web products to join our product team. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone passionate about user research, usability and building innovative products. You will be a key member in a small, very talented group of software product development professionals. You will be responsible validating the user experience and user interface, and ensuring that the product that gets built will be usable and will meet the needs of the target users. You will work very closely with the product designer, product manager and the lead developer to determine the right product.
Responsibilities
Create a full user research competency for the company, including creating tests, lining up users from the target market, administering the usability tests, assessing the results and recommending solutions.
Conduct split testing and multivariate testing.
Work closely with the product manager and designers to understand product.
Requirements
A degree in human computer interaction or a related field or equivalent work experience.
3+ year's working as a user research resource in a software product and/or web development environment required.
Interest in making the entire product better, not just the UI.
Proven ability to create effective user interfaces for large-scale consumer internet products.
Able to understand highly complex products and present an effective and usable UI to the customer.
Experience designing web applications.
Experience working closely with product managers and product designers.
Excellent written, verbal and diagrammatic communication skills.
Understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
