PRODUCT MANAGER (New York, New York)
Whiting Consulting is looking for a Product Manager NINJA for our client in the NYC area. This person must have proven success with shipped-consumer Web products to join our product team. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone passionate about building innovative software products. The Product Manager is responsible for defining the products and services that our engineering team will build. This involves working with our customers/users, engineering and the user experience design team to come up a product that is useful, usable and feasible. You will be responsible for the overall health and success of your product. You will get to know the customers inside and out and become their voice.
Responsibilities
Define the product strategy and roadmap.
Write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus and coordinate product schedules with a team of engineers and designers.
Integrate usability studies, user research, and market analysis into product requirements to ensure products satisfy customer needs.
Coordinate with other product managers and designers to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience.
Drive the overall success of your product.
Requirements
5+ years working as a product manager for a web-based products.
Bachelor's degree required.
Understanding of technology and ability to work closely with engineers.
Excellent requirements writing skills.
Deep understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies (you will be the SCRUM Product Owner).
Proven ability to create and ship consumer Internet products.
Experience with usability testing and interpreting results to improve product iteratively.
Experience working closely with interaction designers and engineering teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience using data analytics to improve a product (use of Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.).
Understanding of finance, marketplaces and auction mechanics a plus.
