Manager/Director of Quality Assurance (New York, New York)
Whiting Consulting is searching for Manager/Director of Quality Assurance for our client. As a result of their continued growth and the success of their business model, we are searching for a Manager/Director of Quality Engineering. This role will be responsible for the growth, development and expansion of all quality-engineering programs within the company.
Responsibilities
Build and develop the QA organization to support the growth and diversification of the business.
Implement a continuous plan for growing and maturing the QA organization.
Guide the development of all QA processes across the organization.
Lead the development of all aspects of quality assurance including new product testing, regression testing, automation and load testing.
Support the operations team in the validation of multiple sites including disaster recovery and secondary sites.
In coordination with the operations and development teams, develop a plan for building and developing programs to measure and validate the technology we create.

Required Skills and Experience
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent discipline/experience.
15+ years experience as QA professional, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and Scrum.
Excellent communication skills and customer oriented focus, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization from individual contributor to Senior Executive.
Experience working for a SaaS company.
Experience leading a distributed QA organization.
Experience testing large-scale, database driven Web sites.
Detailed technical knowledge of multi-tier/multi-site internet systems.
In depth understanding of distributed systems and how to evaluate performance and stability across these systems.
Deep experience with load, stress, black box and white box testing.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with all departments to achieve and meet tight deadlines.
Outstanding organization skills.
Experience managing outsourced and offshore teams.
Strong background in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
Direct experience with QA automation tools (Selenium).
Desired Skills and Experience
Direct, recent experience testing disaster recovery sites and multi-site applications.
Direct experience building and developing multi-site QA teams.
Strong grasp of Internet technologies including HTTP, HTML, JSP and Java.
