MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE (New York, New York)
Our client, an online auction platform has over 10,000 participants, including global financial institutions, hedge funds, private equity firms, mutual funds, corporations and other institutional and accredited investors. As a result of their continued growth and the success of their business model, Whiting Consulting is searching for a Manager/Director of Quality Engineering. This role will be responsible for the growth, development, and expansion of all quality-engineering programs within the company.
Responsibilities
Build and develop the QA organization to support the growth and diversification of the business
Implement a continuous plan for growing and maturing the QA organization
Guide the development of all QA processes across the organization
Lead the development of all aspects of quality assurance including new product testing, regression testing, automation and load testing
Support the operations team in the validation of multiple sites including disaster recovery and secondary sites
In coordination with the operations and development teams, develop a plan for building and developing programs to measure and validate the technology they create
“Hands in” involvement with QA team and Development
Required Skills and Experience
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent discipline/experience
15+ years experience as QA professional, with at least 10 years in a leadership role
Proven experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and Scrum
Excellent communication skills and customer oriented focus, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization from individual contributors to Senior Executives
Experience working for a SaaS company
Experience leading a distributed QA organization
Experience testing large-scale, database driven websites
Detailed technical knowledge of multi-tier/multi-site internet systems
In depth understanding of distributed systems and how to evaluate performance and stability across these systems
