BUSINESS ANALYST (New York, New York)
Whiting Consulting is searching for a Business Analyst for our client in the New York City area. This individual should be a dynamic, proactive, and
entrepreneurial candidate. The individual will work with various business and engineering teams to gather requirements in order to define business needs
for our client's new platform. Additionally, the Business Analyst will effectively communicate requirements to software engineering teams to
deliver products that meet business expectations and project manage various phases in the software development life cycle of an application.
Skills
Perform in-depth analysis of existing processes and the nature of the data used in those processes.
Gather and analyze end-user requirements and create high-level documentation.
Coordinate activities of third-party vendors involved with the development of applications.
Assist in software development, creation of test plans, deployments and other project direction.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve user experience.
Understanding of financial software applications and the financial market in general.
Ability to gather and analyze requirements concisely.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills using English.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage work to project timelines.
Ability to lead joint requirements sessions with business and technical teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of capabilities and restrictions of RIA techniques such as AJAX and web remoting.
Proficient in on-line documentation techniques using wiki and Web-based collaborative tracking tools.
Experience
5+ years Business Analyst experience.
Experience in Agile customer or proxy-customer role and Agile planning.
Experience with wire framing, use cases, and UML methodologies.
Experience with working with cutting edge web technologies.
Experience with transactional web applications, trading/marketplace platforms or auction sites strongly preferred.
Education
Relevant BA/BS degree.
