User Experience / Interaction Design Lead (New York, New York)
Whiting Consulting is searching for a Lead User Experience / Interaction Designer for our client in the New York City area.
Responsibilities
Drive product designs from ideation to implementation
Plan and Conduct user tests and turn observations into insights for product design/improvement
Set strategic design direction and communicate a vision for Company's products
Communicate designs through mockups and interactive prototypes
Collaborate with other designers, usability analysts and researchers to inform and validate your designs
Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns
Enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced, environment
Required Skills / Experience
Expert understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices
Expert knowledge of rapid prototyping and design tools such as OmniGraffle, Axure, InDesign, PhotoShop, Fireworks, or Illustrator
Generate rapid, iterative interactive prototypes
Ability to communicate your ideas to multiple audiences and tailor deliverables accordingly
Ability to lead and manage large design initiatives
Desired Skills
Four-to-six (4-6) years experience in user interface and interaction design with significant experience designing rich interactive Web applications for the consumer or enterprise
Bachelor's or higher degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or related field or equivalent experience required, Master's preferred
Unhealthy obsession with InDesign for creating deliverables (think Eight Shapes “Unify” system)
Axure RP ninja.
